Sciton BBL Heroic
If your main concern is pigmentation and sun spots, we’ve got you covered! We are the only clinic in Idaho to have a Sciton BBL HEROic. With its new intellitracking technology, treatments are notably faster and significantly safer than classic BBLs or IPLs. With the Broad Band Light (BBL), we can lighten and eliminate pigmentation including lentigines, also known as sunspots, and freckles. BBL Heroic uses light energy to target increased areas of pigment, causing destruction of the pigment and fading of spots. In general, a series of 2-3 treatments is recommended for best results. Treatment is quick, usually taking less than 30 minutes for an entire face. Recovery is also brief, with the pigmented areas becoming darker and flaky, similar to coffee-grounds on the skin, over 3-4 days before fading over the course of 1-2 weeks.
Important Pre- and Post-treatment Things to Know
It is of the utmost importance to avoid sun exposure for 1 month before and 1 month after this treatment due to the risk of hyperpigmentation, or darkening of the spots. Unfortunately, we will not be able to treat tanned skin as the device targets the skin differently. Wearing daily moisturizer with sunscreen containing zinc or titanium and an SPF of at least 35 before and after the procedure is highly encouraged. It is also recommended to discontinue exfoliating products like Tretinoin (Retin A) 1 week before and after treatment to ensure your skin is not too sensitive for the procedure.
